Dutch Gems teamed up with curator and artist Walter Koemig for art project ELF. An exclusive tape release (Ruff Gems 001) featuring poetry and music by N.V. De Nieuwe Wanhoop (Martin Max Aart de Jong and Jan M. de Rijk). Made for the exhibition ELF featuring eleven Leiden based artists. Hand numbered copies in a double cassette box. Recorded in Leiden, The Netherlands, in the night of 2 and 3 October during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Each box contains a mini-booklet with a collection of poetry by Martin Max Aart de Jong. Also included is a bookmark, a plastic magnifying glass and a five panel folded paper insert. The mini-booklet also includes eleven pictures of ‘skulls’ designed by the eleven artists (with colour photography by Patricia Nauta).
